Westmont comes up just short in GSAC Tournament semifinals

The regular season champs in the Golden State Athletic Conference are denied a chance at a GSAC Tournament title as well. In a close contest throughout, Westmont lost 80-77 to Concordia in a semifinal game in Montecito.

Jordan Sachs’ layup with 13.1 seconds pulled Westmont within one, 78-77. After two free throws by Concordia, Niko Brooks misses a three-pointer on the baseline, Sachs grabbed the rebound and his desperation three-pointer was off the mark as the Eagles advance to Tuesday’s GSAC final against Arizona Christian.

Preston Branson had a game-high 24 points for the 25-7 Warriors who are expected to receive a bid into the NAIA National Tournament.
