Beachfront art gets a facelift

The Herbert Bayer Chromatic Gate sculpture is getting a facelift along the Santa Barbara waterfront where it stands.

The colorful piece is also referred to as the Rainbow Arch.

A fence is up around the sculpture, and work to restore it is underway. This follows a fundraising campaign supported by many donars along with the City of Santa Barbara and the County Arts Commission.

The project should be completed in six weeks.
