Gauchos slide continues as they lose at Riverside

Just when you thought it could not get any worse for the UCSB men’s basketball team, it does as they lose at UC Riverside 54-45 in an ugly game involving two of the worst teams in the Big West Conference.

The banged-up Gauchos, who are down to just six scholarship players, shot under 26 percent in the game as they lose for the seventh time in their last eight games to fall to 4-10 in league and 8-17 for the year. UC Riverside is just 3-11 in league and 6-20 for the season.

Alan Williams led UCSB with 15 points and 12 rebounds while Chris Harriel scored 14 points for the Highlanders.
