Farmers hope for steady but not drenching rain

The hit and miss rain this winter season has not done much for our water supplies and farmers are hoping for a few strong storms to help fill the lakes and underground wells.

Growers setting up at the weekly Farmer’s Market in downtown Santa Barbara say they haven’t seen any runoff from the rain in December or January.

Even with hopes for more wet weather ahead, with a strong series of storms, however, they would likely have some crop damage.
