Baker, Brooks named SBART Athlete of Week
In crunch time both Jack Baker and Maddie Brooks came through for their respective high schools and today they were honored by the Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table.
Baker is the SBART Male Athlete of the Week after posting double-figures in two huge rivalry wins for the Dons boys basketball team that captured the Channel League championship.
Baker tallied 25 points and 12 rebounds against San Marcos and followed that up with an 11 point, 10 rebound performance against Dos Pueblos in which the Dons clinched the league championship.
As for Brooks, she scored seven goals in each of Carpinteria’s two wins last week in girls water polo. The victories gave the Warriors their second consecutive Tri-Valley League championship.
