SB Dons wrap up perfect Channel League H2O season

Behind two first quarter goals from Kelsey O’Brien, Anna Brummett and Sophie Trabucco, Santa Barbara jumped out to a 6-1 lead after one quarter and Dos Pueblos could never recover. The home Chargers cut the deficit to 8-6 early in the third quarter but the Dons held them off and won 14-8 to complete a perfect 8-0 Channel League season in girls water polo.

The UCSB-bound Trabucco scored a game-high 5 goals while the UCLA-bound O’Brien added four goals. Santa Barbara will enter next week’s playoffs as the top-ranked team in the rugged CIF Division One.

Dos Pueblos lost a coin flip following the match and will be the third-seed from the Channel League behind San Marcos.
