Lompoc police captain mentioned in Dorner’s online manifesto

A massive manhunt is under way throughout all of Southern California and Nevada for Christopher Dorner.

Authorities in the Los Angeles area said Dorner killed a couple in Irvine on Sunday and a Riverside police officer Thursday morning. Dorner is a former Los Angeles police officer who was fired from the department in 2008 for making false statements.

Dorner posted a manifesto online that explained how he would target everyone on the police force who did him wrong. One of the victims killed in Irvine was the daughter of a former police captain who had represented Dorner during the disciplinary hearing.

Lompoc Police Chief Larry Ralston told NewsChannel 3 Captain Don Deming is in his department and ismentioned inDorner’s manifesto. Ralston said the captain has been with his department for five years and came from the Los Angeles Police Department. He said they were notified Wednesday of the threat and since then all Lompoc police officers have been given Dorner’s photo and havebeen told to remain alert.

“It’s brings it close to home, personal,” Chief Ralston said. “We told everyone to be very vigilent and very careful while they move about.”

One passage in Dorner’s manifesto reads, “Officer xx xx stated the same but refused to testify as he did not want to “get involved” with the BOR’s. Contact Sgt. xx xx, (now a Captain at Lompoc PD), Sgt. xx xx, and Sgt. xx xx.”

Dorner’s manifesto addressed to America with the subject title “Last Resort”, explained how he has been wronged from childhood through his days at the Los Angeles Police Department. Dorner also listed Thousand Oaks as a former hometown.
