Samy’s Camera offering free seminars to shoot movies and pictures like a pro

A day of seminars and demonstrations takes place Saturday at Samy’s Camera store to show consumers the new products on the market for making short videos or even small budget movies.

It’s closely tied to the Santa Barbara International Film Festival that runs through Sunday.

Vendors including Sony, Canon, GoPro, Tascam, and Rode will be on hand with camera, audio and lighting equipment.

Manage Richard Pinnock, “We did it last year. It’s our second year of doing it. Some of the classes, people come out of it so excited and so happy and they’ve gained some information they didn’t have before. It’s not really the camera that we are selling, it’s the idea behind the camera. You can do something that’s really creative and people can do more now than they’ve been able to do with a smaller budget.”

The seminars are free.

They take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Samy’s Camera, 614 Chapala Street.
