River Bottom Clean Up Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are wanted to help clean up the Ventura River Bottom.At least once a year volunteers clean up items left by homeless camps.This holiday weekend volunteers will have two chances to do their part.The City of Ventura and the Ventura Hillsides Conservancy are holding clean up events on Saturday and Monday.Monday is also the Martin Luther King Junior Day of Service.On Saturday, January 19th and volunteers will be asked to clear trash and arundo from the property between the 101 and Main Street bridges.Volunteer will be meeting at the Main Street bridge at 9 a.m. and they will work until Noon.On Monday Ventura’s volunteer coordinator will be meeting volunteers at 10a.m. in the lot by Main and Peking Streets.Monday’s event runs from 10a.m. until 1pm.
