Legal Fight Continues To Keep Violent Sex Offender Off Streets

A legal battle to keep a convicted violent sexual offender off the Central Coast Streets will continue this week.District Attorney, Joyce Dudley, challenged a judge’s order to release Tibor Karsai as a transient in Santa Barbara County. After first issuing a stay, the Court of Appeals decided to go ahead with Karsai’s release.Dudley then asked the California Supreme Court to intervene. The California Supreme Court ordered the Court of Appeals to reconsider the matter. The case will be heard on Wednesday.Karsai is at the end of a 26-year sentence for raping a 16-year-old girl in Placer County.
