Hundreds of Unique Decorations Illuminate Montecito Home

George and Alice Krebs have a high voltage holiday display on their Montecito land that captivates their guests. Many of the hundreds of decorations have been crafted by family members over the years.”Some of them are 40 to 50 years old,” George Krebs said as he pointed out some of the older displays. The Krebs annually put up the decorations for friends and holiday parties. On one special day, this Sunday, they will welcome a group of underserved children from Santa Barbara. At the two-hour event, each child will get to wander the property and meet Santa Claus. The driveway at the Krebs property is lined with snowmen. The front lawn has thousands of lights in all the trees. There are also sleighs, a Ferris wheel, a train, wooden mountains of snow, and a handmade wooden choir. The inside of the home also has countless decorations, and a gingerbread house. The Krebs recall how they barely had any decorations up in the early days of their marriage, and lived in a 24-foot trailer. Times have changed, and they are enjoying the beautiful displays annually now, at every turn of their property.
