Goleta Ice Rink Project Delayed

GOLETA – The “Ice in Paradise” ice rink project has been delayed. The non-profit group Greater Santa Barbara Ice Rink Association is about $750,000 short of their fund raising goal to break ground on the project. Project leaders had hoped to break ground by the end of this year. The organization still plans to build the 46,000 square foot, two story facility next to Girsh Park in Goleta. Even when they collect enough money to break ground, the non-profit says they will need more money to finish the project. They plan on selling bricks to build the plaza part of the facility. If you buy a brick, you will be able to have your name engraved on it.Organizers hope to have enough money to break ground on the project this winter. The facility could be up and running nine or 10 months later. For more information on Ice in Paradise and to donate visit the website below.http://www.iceinparadise.com/
