Suspect in Eastside Standoff is Arrested

Santa Barbara- The suspect is in custody after a three-hour police standoff on Santa Barbara’s East Side Tuesday night. Police forced entry into an apartment on Salinas and Cacique Street where 29-year-old Anthony Perrie had barricaded himself. Perrie had a felony warrant out for his arrest, after failing to appear in court on domestic battery charges. Once police spotted Perrie around 9pm, a foot pursuit ensued leading officers to Perrie’s apartment, where he lived with his mother. After hours of attempting to establish contact with the suspect, police forced entry. Neighboring residents were evacuated. Perrie was arrested for resisting officers, for his original felony warrant, and for strong armed robbery. His mother is accusing him of stealing money from her using physical force. Perrie has been booked in Santa Barbara county jail on 50-thousand-dollars bail.
