Support for Measures W and X on June Ballot

Supporters of more money for education are trying to get you to vote for a property tax increase. Measures W and X are on the June ballot for voters in the Santa barbara Unified School District. Each measure would raise parcel taxes by $54. Educators say the money goes toward music and arts programs along with enhancing science and math education. The money would also be used to maintain class sizes and computer and education technology. Senior citizens would be exempt from the tax increase. The measures need a two thirds majority to pass.
