San Marcos HS Opens New Wing For Health Careers Academy

Beautification and construction at San Marcos High School is nearing completion. Thanks to a voter approved bond measure, San Marcos has a new building that is home to the Health Careers Academy. The Academy’s goal is to create a pre-medicine pathway for high school students.New facilities include a science classroom that allows the school to add a Kinesiology course to the curriculum giving students a UC-approved science class.A health technologies room provides real, working patient care equipment whereby students will be able to check vital signs, practice patient transfer techniques and monitor blood pressure and respiration.A computer lab, library and media room are also part of the new wing.Beautification on the San Marcos campus will continue into the school year.
