Riders Get Stuck On Ferris Wheel In Thousand Oaks

It was a frightening experience for dozens of riders trapped on a Ferris wheel in Thousand Oaks on Saturday night. Ventura County Firefighters were called out to the California Lutheran University campus after 9 pm after a mechanical issue caused the Ferris wheel to become stuck. Riders, including young children, had to wait patiently while firefighters and wheel operators manually moved the wheel. People were slowly let off, one seat at a time. Fire authorities say one person suffered minor injuries, but refused treatment. The campus was holding a homecoming carnival.
