Possible Drunk Driver Forces Closure of Goleta Intersection

Goleta- A Goleta intersection was shut down for hours on Saturday night after a possible drunk driver smashed into a utility pole.The crash happened at the corner of Ward Drive and Ekwill Street at around 7 pm. But according to witnesses, that is not where this incident started.A female driver allegedly side-swiped another car while getting off of Highway 217. That driver then took off down Ward Avenue before apparently losing control at high speeds.”I guess she was going 60, 70, 80 miles per hour. You see the skid marks pretty much tell the story, she hit a telephone pole and it looks like she hit an Edison power box,” Vinny Clark, Son of the Driver.The driver was taken to the hospital. There is no word on her condition or whether she will face any charges.
