New Harbor Hang Out is “On The Alley”
There’s a new choice on the menu of places to hang out at the Santa Barbara Harbor. “On The Alley” is serving up American regional dishes including fish tacos, ratatouille, chicken wraps, cheese steak sandwiches, salads and beach front burgers. It’s located on a main walkway to the boats, near the yacht club. The previous restaurant was The Minnow cafe, but since that close, On The Alley took over not only that location but some space next door to offer a larger, open air counter. The restaurant is linked by ownership to Brophy Brothers restaurant. It’s expected to serve as an over flow choice when Brophy’s is packed, as it often is on nights and weekends. Some of the same popular menu items as Brophy’s are served at On The Alley including clam chowder and fish and chips.Everything in this restaurant is American made, from the grills, to the refrigeration, to the steel beams. On The Alley also the first restaurant of its kind in the harbor to serve espresso drinks. For kids, there’s a special menu and a soft serve ice cream machine with $2 cones. The Bennett family owns Brophy Bros.and recently signed a long term lease for the scenic site over looking the harbor and Stearns Wharf. For the early risers or fishermen heading out,the restaurant opens at 6:30 am. It closes daily at 8 p.m.
