McGlynn Dismissed From UCSB Soccer Team, Vom Steeg Suspended

UCSB has removed senior Peter McGlynn from the Gaucho men’s soccer team after he shoved a referee following Sunday’s overtime loss to UC Davis. Gaucho Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Mark Massari also suspended head coach Tim Vom Steeg for one game.The Gauchos still had a slim chance of making the playoffs but Massari said that UCSB would forego any opportunity for postseason play this season regardless of the outcome of Santa Barbara’s remaining two games.As of now no charges have been filed against McGlynn who was arrested by university police and handcuffed on the field following the game.
