In Focus – National Public Gardens Day – Part 1

Santa Barbara – Santa Barbara’s lush public gardens will be in the spotlight this week for National Public Gardens Day. It is set for Friday, May 11th.Many gardens will have special activities on that day and throughout the weekend. Local organizers say the gardens don’t just provide beauty, they also provide important habitats for dozens of plants and organisms.”We are working everyday to share and conserve the plants and their habitats because they’re important to the well being of our community they’re important to the well being of our planet and therefore the well being of mankind everyday is public garden day,” said Gwen Stauffer, Executive Director of Ganna Walska LotuslandThe parks that are offering special tours and activities include Alice Keck Memorial Gardens, Chase Palm Park, The Santa Barbara Botanic Garden and Lotusland.For more information go to, www.sbpublicgardens.org
