Grover Beach Man Arrested for Assault With a Deadly Weapon
Grover Beach Police arrested 31-year-old Craig Bruington Sunday morning and charged with him assault with a deadly weapon.Police responded to a call of an assault taking place on the 200 block of N. 6th Street in Grover Beach early Sunday morning. According to police, they received numerous 911 calls reporting a man yelling for help and knocking on doors in the area. When they arrived they found a man with a serious head injury, bleeding profusely, and lying on the front porch of a house. The man said he had been held against his will and hit over the head with a golf club. He said he escaped by jumping through a window. He was taken to Sierra Vista Hospital for treatment of his injuries.Police went to the house where the alleged assault took place. Following an investigation and presence of physical evidence, they arrested Craig Bruington for assault with a deadly weapon.Bruington was booked at the San Luis Obispo County jail. The investigation is still ongoing and additional charges may occur.
