Ed Zuchelli is the Managing Editor at KCOY 12 | KEYT 3 | FOX 11.
Born and raised on the Central Coast, Ed was destined to work at KCOY. He’s the third generation of Zuchelli’s to work at the station. His grandfather,
also named Ed Zuchelli, founded the station and was the first Sports Director. Ed’s father, John, was also News Director at KCOY. His wife,
Lindsay, also currently works at KCOY | KEYT | FOX 11 as the Executive Producer.
Ed spent his high school years at Mission Prep volunteering to shoot football games for the Friday Night Blitz on KCOY.
After graduating, he stayed on the Central Coast and spent four years at Cal Poly working on a degree in Broadcast Journalism. He got his first paychecks in TV shooting parades and sports games for KCOY.
Ed then earned first full-time job at the station in San Luis Obispo as a floor director, editor, photographer, and eventually producer while going to school.
After he left Cal Poly, Ed worked at KIRO in Seattle and KCRA in Sacramento. The Central Coast was calling though, and he returned to KCOY in 2018.
Ed enjoys watching sports, going to the movies, hiking, wine tasting, going to Disneyland, and finding the best Santa Maria- style BBQ. He is also a
huge fan of the Sacramento Kings, San Francisco Giants, San Jose Sharks, San Francisco 49ers, and Cal Poly Mustangs.
