SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - A group of local performers are set to compete at a Musical Theatre Competition Of America this weekend at Fullerton College.

The group consists of 18 high school students from Santa Barbara High, San Marcos and Dos Pueblos. They have combined their musical talents to form an elite show choir known as "Euphony."

Practicing together since November, the group of former La Colina Jr. High students are ready for the spotlight.

Under the direction of Shannon Saleh, this unique experience will allow friends to share the stage.

"There aren’t show choirs at the high schools in town and I get that it’s hard to find the right time to do that," Saleh said. "It’s really fun to take a high school age group to this competition.”

“We made a group of some of the most talented students across all of the schools, " Santa Barbara High junior Daniel Sabraw said. "I think that all of that talent coming together is bound to be successful.”

On Sunday, the MTCA awards show will be held inside Disneyland and this group will hope to bring home the hardware while enjoying an unforgettable experience.
