Only days left to catch top documentaries considered Oscar front runners
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Time is running out to see what are considered to be the top documentary films of the year. Santa Barbara's Riviera Theatre has been showcasing the Best Doc shortlist since December 25. Final showings are set for January 12.
For the past few weeks, 15 of the top 190 documentary films being considered for the Academy Awards have been playing. It's part of the annual Santa Barbara International Film Festival which kicks off a 10 day run on January 15. Local movie buffs have just a couple days left to see what may be a an award winning film on the big screen.
The 92nd annual Academy Awards will air Sunday, February 8 on NewsChannel 3.
