Foodbank of Santa Barbara County kicks off summer meal program for kids

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - FoodBank of Santa Barbara County is putting together another Picnic in the Park for kids in the area to "grab-and-go" a free meal.

This is the eighth straight year for the event and this time around is very important to the community.

With kids relying on meals from their local schools but not having the opportunity because of the pandemic, the events spread around the county will help kids get the meals they need for majority of the summer.

There are nearly 50 different spots for families to pick up food for children 18 and under by either walking up or driving by.

Youth musicians, DJs and local radio stations will be at select locations to add more entertainment to the sites.
