Ventura County polling locations based on number of registered voters in each area

VENTURA, Calif. -- There are about 50 polling locations in Ventura County compared to about 400 in previous years, long before the COVID-19 pandemic.

At least four cities including Port Hueneme, Ojai, Santa Paula and Fillmore have only one location.

Oxnard and Simi Valley have the most in-person polling locations. Oxnard has 9, Ventura has 7 and Camarillo has 6.

Ventura County Elections officials said the locations are based on the number of registered voters in each city or unincorporated area rather than the population.

There is a polling place for every 10,000 registered voters in the area.

But voters do not have to go the in-person voting location closest to their homes, they may go to any location in the county.

If a voters are in a hurry they may want to go to the County of Ventura Public Works building in Saticoy, The Loyal Order of Moose Lodge # 561 in Oxnard or Oxnard Adult Eduction. They have been the slowest polling locations since opening day on Oct. 31.

The busiest polling locations so far is the Reagan Library in Simi Valley.
