Local hotel in Santa Ynez Valley sees decline in business during storm

SANTA YNEZ VALLEY, Calif. - A local hotel in Solvang is experiencing slower business during this week's rain storm.

Managers at The Landsby say customers are cancelling reservations every day this week.

They believe the rain storm is the main reason for the cancellations.

Last week, managers say the hotel was at 100 percent capacity.

In the aftermath of the holiday season, the hotel sees couples without kids visiting during this time of the year.

They say many come after the holidays to enjoy the peace and quiet.

But this week, managers say capacity is down to 30 percent due to the inclement weather.

Some visitors at the hotel say they welcome storm, and they're glad they don't have to deal with large crowds.

Managers at The Landsby expect business to pick up as soon as the rain storm ends.
