SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - In a show of thanks to health care workers taking care of those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, Cal Poly will illuminate several buildings and landmarks on the campus starting Friday.

The ‘Light It Blue to Thank You’ effort also recognizes everyone who helped prepare the county’s Alternate Care Site at the ASI Recreation Center on campus.

More than 600 community medical volunteers signed up and trained to run the ACS if it’s ever needed to treat COVID-19 patients.

The south side of the Cal Poly Recreation Center, the Performing Arts Center, and Grand Avenue entrance will be lit starting at dusk each evening through Sunday, May 31.
