SLO County given go ahead to move further into Stage 2 of reopening

SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY, Calif. - San Luis Obispo County has been given approval to move forward in the Stage 2 of the State of California's reopening plan, according to County Supervisor Lynn Compton.

Compton posted the update on her Facebook page.

Earlier this week, San Luis Obispo County submitted paperwork attesting that the county is meeting updated guidelines set forth by Governor Gavin Newsom as part of the state's "Resilience Roadmap."

San Luis Obispo County is listed among roughly two-dozen other counties who have been given the green light to move forward in Stage 2 which allows for more business openings and options for residents.

Among these new options, Compton said, include some in-store shopping and in-restaurant dining. Schools are listed in this stage as well, but that decision ultimately is made by each individual school district, Compton said.

An exact timeline for when these experiences can begin again is unclear at this time.

Additional information is expected to be released in San Luis Obispo County's Wednesday COVID-19 news briefing. That news briefing will be held at 3:15 p.m. and will be broadcast on NewsChannel 12 and KEYT.com.
