PISMO BEACH, Calif. -- Pismo Beach Premium Outlets reopened on Friday with new safety protocols to ensure the safety of customers and staff against COVID-19.

The Outlets closed on March 19 due to shelter at home orders.

As part of their reopening process, the property published its comprehensive COVID-19 Exposure Control Policy to help keep customers and staff safe on their property.

The policy was developed by a team of leading experts in the fields of Epidemiology and Environmental Health and Safety.

The new safety protocols have been given to all tenants in the mall and they are expected to adhere to the same rigorous policies in their spaces.

Some of the new protocols include making available protective masks for shoppers, enhancing sanitization and disinfecting, hand sanitizing stations throughout the outlets, signage promoting CDC guidelines and enforcement of social distancing.

The property has also joined forces with local non-profits to support initiatives aimed at assisting those in the community experiencing hardship as result of COVID-19.

Pismo Beach Premium Outlets joined a national initiative to host food banks, clothing donations, COVID-19 mobile testing and blood drives as part of an outreach to 1,300 health providers, government agencies and non-profits.

The Outlets say the reopening will provide a much needed economic boost to the local community as it has provided around 300 jobs and contributed $4.5 million of sales tax and $371,000 in propter tax revenue to the state.

The Outlets' tax receipts fund essential services in communities, including education and infrastructure as well as health and safety services.
