Injured Woman Rescued from Breakwater Rocks in Santa Barbara
A woman broke an ankle in the rocky area just beyond the walkway at the Santa Barbara Breakwater this morning.
She was rescued by an emergency team including AMR, Santa Barbara Fire, and the Harbor Patrol.
The concrete walkway ends on the far side of the breakwater wall and from there it is an uncharted path through boulders to the area known as the Sandspit.
A technical rescue through the large rocks was necessary to render aid and carry the woman out to an ambulance where she was transported to Cottage Hospital.
