Jacob Allred - Paso Robles City Council candidate

Paso Robles City Council

Why are you running for office?: I love the city of Paso Robles and my neighbors. I relish the opportunity to serve my community and city with my unique skills. Our city is growing, and we need to be looking at how to best harness that opportunity to ensure our city will be a better and safer place to live, worship, and work.
What makes you qualified for the job?: Working with Governments around the globe as a software Global Product Manager, years of experience serving on the Paso Robles Library Board, learning about our county through Leadership North County, donating my time to local homeless organizations, cleaning the city with Earth Shine, and being a husband and father. I believe that our City should be representative of the people who live here and have a vested interest in its future.
What are your two main priorities if you win?: Budget and Growth. The budget we have today does not appear to be tenable and our growth plans are not properly balanced. I would like focus on each of these items to be sure that
How will you interact with other governments?: Working with any governing body requires finesse, steadfastness, and a clear goal in mind. I plan on working with the people of Paso and our current governing bodies to ensure our needs are articulated and our goals are met.
What are your plans to help overcome COVID-19?: COVID-19 has fundamentally changed how businesses operate, the assumptions that Cities have built around, and which technologies can be leveraged to help solve those problems. While there is still a lot to learn about COVID and its impact on our city beyond 2020, I believe that we cannot wait for the waves to hit our shore. Action is needed now to ensure we will have appropriate accommodations in place to weather the impending tsunami.
Which two issues are most important to you?: Budget and Growth. The two issues that are most important to me will be a focus of mine once in office.
