Goleta City Council

Why are you running for office?: I am running to create a more beautiful and livable Goleta, and for work, play, visiting and going to school here to all be a better experience for all. I think we can find more money in the treasury, and get a return for our beautified Old Town, in the form of visitors staying in Goleta's hotels. There will also be much needed airport landing fees available if we can convince the county that Santa Barbara airport is in Goleta, just as it was before it was annexed by Santa Barbara in the 1930s. We can call the tarmac at the airport a water drainage system. So that is what I want to do somehow for the city to gain some more and better institutions, increasing police, fire and spending on roads and sidewalks.
What makes you qualified for the job?: I am qualified with a degree in psychology from UCD, I am qualified in agricultural and housing developments, as well as designing parks for animals and preserves for native species in this area. I hope we can bring back some of the species that have gone missing and need to be reintroduced, in part and in whole. I am qualified in education due to developmental psychology and in business savvy, good for the city, the people and the environment. I am qualified in settling strikes, and keeping the city running again as soon as possible. I am qualified in the switch over from orchards to houses.
What are your two main priorities if you win?: My main two priorities will be bringing a more detailed plan for the beautification of Hollister and Old Town through new street paving sidewalks and trees, flowers and bushes. I would also like to see the continuing of Goleta as a suburb, not a super city, with parks, water and road room for all its residents and visitors.
How will you interact with other governments?: I will interact with the county by the arrangement of having their taxes be prioritized for the betterment of our schools, and the using of county water for irrigation. For the state I will be interacting with the state for the purchase of State water and for the public safety and keeping our morals acceptable with the rest of California, by taxing liquor for police increases and legal marijuana for medical use and keeping such vices as prostitution and pornography under control of the police. For Federal interaction I would like to see the city recognized for what it is good for: an environmental paradise and tree city USA.
What are your plans to help overcome COVID-19?: To overcome COVID-19 and the massive suffering it has caused our citizens in health, mortality and loss of revenue and unemployment in our businesses I propose two steps. The first step will be the finding of a cure, and then when infections are low through social distancing and prevention by that time, bring an immunization to the people that have been tested and works. Otherwise, stopping the spread of infection will be our best attempt to fight the disease. It may also be possible to find a cure for middle and less serious cases, at least until a cure may be found for the disease in its total frightening complexities.
Which two issues are most important to you?: Development in an orderly fashion, starting with houses in West Goleta and low cost housing for our immigrants from other cities nearby. Then I would like to see more parks and maybe even a water park, if we can somehow find the water resources to build it. This will keep the children happy and at play and the adults in post-partum fretting over their children at sports fields and the inexpressible joy of having a nonviolent park such as a water park- compare one to roller coasters in other parts of the state.
