Why are you running for office?: I am interested in the continued success of Buellton as a community. My goal is to bring common sense and sound financial decisions to the Council. I have raised a family, and lived in Buellton for 26 years and so have a vested interested in the success of this city.
What makes you qualified for the job?: I am a currently serving in the role of Vice Mayor on the City Council. I was appointed initially appointed for to complete a one year term, and then was won a seat in the last election. I served on the Planning Commission for ten years and filled the position of Chairman of this commission for two years.

My personal work experience is in the agricultural field from running horse operations to landscaping and irrigation. I understand what it takes to run a business and the diverse needs of young families to seniors living in Buellton.
What are your two main priorities if you win?: 1. Maintain a balanced budget while meeting the needs of the community while practicing fiscal responsibility .

2. Continue to develop activities and projects that increase revenue, safety in our community and provide activities for all ages from youth to seniors.
How will you interact with other governments?: As a current Council member I serve as the Buellton representative on the Central Coast Water Authority Committee. The Buellton Chamber of Commerce/Visitors Bureau is an important partner for tourism and promotion of Buellton, I represent the city on this committee as well.

Our city already partners with the other communities of the Santa Ynez Valley for many activities and pool our resources for better results than any of us could provide independently. The County of Santa Barbara is also a driving force that our Council members work with to meet guidelines and bring forth the needs of our citizens.

We have partnered with the state for grants and financial relief during Covid-19.
What are your plans to help overcome COVID-19?: Strongly support our community to reach a less restrictive level through continued availability of testing and following current Infectious Disease guidelines.
Which two issues are most important to you?: Continued prosperity for the community to increase the services and resources available to all of our citizens. Financial stability during these challenging times.
